Will my stone top look exactly like the photo on your website?

Stone is naturally formed over the course of millions of years. While, the surfaces of the Stone have been filled and/or polished, the majority of the tops natural characteristics - including veining, hairline fissures, pores, and color variations - remain an intrinsic part of the material's natural beauty. Each stone top is a unique item to be treasured and enjoyed for many years to come. The representation of color and veining in a photograph or in a stone sample is only a small portion of a large slab of stone and will vary from top to top.

How Do I Care for my vanity?

Wood Product Care Recommendations:
Keep furniture out of sunlight to avoid sun damage and bleaching.
Keep furniture away from heating/air conditioning sources as they affect the moisture content of the wood. We recommend you dust your furniture frequently with a clean, soft, dry, lint-free cloth. Clean the surface by rubbing in the direction of the grain with a clean damp cloth. Treat drawer glides with petroleum jelly or candle wax for smooth operation.

Each piece of furniture responds differently to changes in temperature and humidity in your home. Expansion at the joints and seams will return to its original shape and size as seasons change. This is especially important for wood furniture that is used in bath areas. Because each piece of wood is unique, you can expect variations in grain appearance and stain coloration. Random distressing is applied by hand and adds a distinctive heirloom appearance to the finish of some pieces. All our vanities include levelers that must be used and leveled when vanities are installed and periodically adjusted to ensure smooth operation of doors and drawers.

Stone Care Recommendations:
Protect surfaces from scratching, staining, and etching by keeping them free of debris or sharp objects. Wipe up spills immediately and avoiding contact with chemicals, particularly acid-based materials. Remove stains with special absorbent poultices formulated for use on Marble/Stone.
Clean with pH neutral products or those especially formulated for use on Marble/Stone. After a period of use, apply a penetrating sealer to prevent contaminates from being absorbed into the top. Sealers may be used on both polished and honed tops. Renew the surface on polished Marble/Stone (identified by its high gloss surface) by buffing with special Marble/Stone polish powders or creams. Do not use polish on tops with a matte finish, which has been honed rather than polished.

Are the vanities difficult to install?

Professional Installation is highly recommended; however we design furniture for the bath so our vanities are very simple to install with thoughtful consideration given for plumbing pipe. If you order a stone top with your vanity, we precut the faucet holes and mount the basin to the stone top before the product is shipped. We then carefully place each top with the backsplash into specially designed wood crates. Glass vessel sinks are shipped in boxes inside the crate.
